Of Sushi, Zombie and Ivy

Delaqroux Inc Updates

Just last friday, i really had the most kickass night ever in Sydney. Well, not to say its that kickass but it wasnt that bad and yep, had a lot of fun. Best night ever in Sydney so far eh? Me happy! Wheee~~!! So yeah, got alot of shots throughout the entire night but somehow, facebook stupid uploader thingy wont work so guess its back with text. They say a picture contains a thousands words, but a thousand words, my friends, is what makes a picture... and... yeah... so back to blogging!

Sushi:
It all began with me going to the Final Fling party at the Admin. Well, it wasnt really as hyped up as the poster implied and truth to tell (and seriously, there wasnt anything flinging), i wasnt even planning to go at all. And to my 'surprise', none of my dear Cohort 5 comrades wanted to go so yeah, if i am to go there, i'm just gonna stick out like a social outcast. But then, in the very last minute, Risa gave me a call and asked me if i am going. I learned that she still wanted to go after Alia decided not to go in the last minute. So yep, i learned that the party is at 5pm, my MiCF meet starts at 6.00pm. Hmm.. maybe i could give it a stop-by. Maybe i can get a free drink or dinner; that'd be good! So yep, off i go with lil Risa.

Well, indeed there were free drinks and food (muehheheheheh.. cheapo'r'us) so i stayed for awhile with Risa. In our conversation, Risa told me that she'll be going to the city tonight. City!!!? Gosh... the sound of the word.. its like music to my ears... yeah, seriously, i am in love with Sydney ever since my last walk around Harbour bridge at dusk after the MCA Zine fair. so i asked her on what she'll be doing there at this hour. And Risa's answer was short and simple as usual; "dunno". Well, friggin good enough for moi!!! Dunno means not sure and to be unsure means uncertainty and to be uncertain opens the possibility of randomness! I AM IN!! Darkie, what about MiCf? Huh? What MiCf? Never heard of it... whooooot....

So yeah, we ended up in the city and... it was raining.. and on top of it all, its winter rain so you can bet how freezing it was. We rendezvous with Risa's classmates in QVB and off we go to enjoy the night with.... dinner. Yeah, the other guys havent had their dinner yet. Ben, one of Risa's buddies told us of Sushi Train and how the sushis there are much cheaper compared to elsewhere. Well, i am aware i took my dinner already but hey, we are going to have a long night ahead of us? Why not stock up the stomach first, no?

Sushis = awesomeness, nuff said.

Zombie:
So next up, we took a train to Circular Quay. It wasnt a long ride but meh, its too wet to be walking outside. Well... not wet enough for me and pretty much, i dont mind the rain but nah, let's just stick with the crowd, shall we? When we reached the circular quay station, our stop is immediately right in front of our nose. It's that big classical looking building overlooking the circular quay! I did walk passed it everytime i'm in circular quay and i always thought its some formal government building but no, the building was actually a library! So what are we to do in a library at night? Well, amazingly there's a really awesome cafe on the top floor and yeah, that will be our next stop! So what is a Zombie? Hmmm... for me to know and you to find out. lolz. But let's just say, undead never been this everlastingly awesome!

But a point here; the cafe overlooks the whole circular quay and imagine, the sight of harbour bridge at night, glimmering with a gentle glow of lights, creating a visage of glittering mirage on the water underneath. It's the kind of sight that is enough to make people go, "holy shit.." not the loud kind of "holy shit" but the breathless, whispery type of "holy shit".. well, you know what i mean.

And on top of it all, Sydney's light and music (or colour, i'm not sure) month is still on and i tell you, the Oprah's house is in a different colour! It's red with some splashes of yellow! Simply majestic! When i tell people afterwards, everyone just go like "meh.. its red.. i know" No! You dont know! Go check for yourself and you'll find out "red" isnt enough to describe it. Imagine, the scene was enough to make all 5 of us (including another extra member to our group who came slightly later) go "ooooooohh..." Its like a building that you are always aware to be there and one time you go check it out, its in a whole different paintjob. And not just ordinary paintjob but an awesome paintjob. That is what i meant by how majestic it is.

Ivy:
It was 11pm and like a real frog underneath the coconut shell (it's a Malay proverb.. yeah, weird, i know) i was the only one asking everyone around me "isnt the last bus has passed?" Everyone was like "no". So yeah, the last bus hasnt passed (okay, i better stop saying that) Yeah, now that i think of it, this is actually my first night out this late in Sydney. My latest was during MArdi Gras but that was barely even 12am. And i had a night out with my other group gathering til 1am but i had someone to drive me home that time. So yeah, this is my first! WHOO! And i am in Circular Quay somemore, the best place there is to hangout at night! double WHOO!

Wait... so after our fireworks watching night in darling harbour the other day and we cancelled out the plan to checkout Luna Park because someone said the last bus is at 9pm.. what the heck was that about!?

Anyways, we decided to hit some clubs around the area. We checked out The Argle but somehow, we ended up spending a short 20 minutes inside and went out. Somehow, according to Ursula, the Argle isnt the best place to dance for music, The Ivy is. And yep, somehow, Ben popped up something i also had in mind, "is Ivy a stripclub?" Why? Well, i dunno.. Ivy just sounds so.. well.. stripper-ish. Haha... Not that I mind! lolz. But Ursula said no so... meh... (slight dissapointment there) But stripper club or not, the place was awesome. The size of the place is one thing, the environment is another. The dance floor range from three different floors, the garden-ish area, the verandah and the inside. We explored the verandah area but there does not seem to have much space there so we hit the garden dance floor instead. Remember how i told you that the day was wet with rain? Yeah, the garden dance floor was an open sky dance floor only lit with the disco light and the moonlight shine. So under the rain, we danced like, WHOOOO!!! Oh, and now that i'm mentioning it, special thanks to those random other guys who brought umbrellas and danced with them open on the dance floor. lolz.

So yep, had great fun that night. Of course, before you judge me. Partying and clubbing is still not my type of life. Me, unlike people who really go wasted in parties around Sydney and totally lose their head, do not find total out of the world enjoyment in partying. I still prefer a quiet night out with good sceneries, walks and company. Music and dances is just moderate addition that can be fun to be enjoyed now and then but not all of the time. Alas, thats just from my point of view. Regardless, Its just nice to go partying now and then once in awhile and come back at 4am in the morning =)
