Delaqroux Inc Update!
Remember my last post about me predicting a very bad week of boredom and loneliness ahead?Well, i was partially right. For one thing, the week was definitely not filled with boredom and loneliness; which is good. For another matter, it was a much worse week than i predicted; which is not good. So here how it started out:
The story began when i was expecting that i wont be going out with Adelynn for the rest of the week for she has some matters to attend in UM. And thus, poor lil Adnin isolates himself in his room with no friends, no internet connection and no credit. Alas, i received a phone call from Adelynn and she asked me to take her to DigiMall (Short for Digital Mall.. duh??). I did remember a few nights ago when she asked me where can she get free electronics and i gave her the idea of visiting DigiMall instead of Low Yatt as stuff in DigiMall may be much much cheaper. So yeah, Adelynn was planning to get a phone for her mom so off we went for the survey. Everything started okay and Adelynn was interested with this one deal at one of the phone stalls. Its a Nokia 7100 Supernova (I still dont get if that Supernova was even necessary). Her budget was around RM700 and the phone was of Slide type, was RM500, 1.3 Megapixel and, i gotta admit, a pretty cool design. I suggested a Sony Ericsson phone for Adelynn but somehow the only stock they have of Sony Ericsson phones are just AP format (aka pirated) and Adelynn claimed that her mom never trust pirates (I wonder if her mom ever met Cap'n Jack Sparrow?). So Adelynn agreed to purchase the Nokia phone as it was original and paid RM500 for it. Not too bad a deal eh?
If there's one thing in the whole telecommunication world that i dont trust is either Maxis and/or Nokia. And yeah, ladies and gentlemen, Nokia is a very sneaky one, sir. Of course, the phone was of original format, the camera was acceptable for 1.3 Megapixels, the speaker was loud and clear butif there's one aspect that needs to be considered with such an agreeable specs for a telephone is the space to contained everything within. Yeah, i looked around the phone and realized something, "where's the memory card slot?" Yep, the friggin phone have none! And, get this; the phone's internal memory was just a mere 5MB?? Seriously, even my old trusty (and yeah, stolen) K700i produced in the year 1999 was built with 41MB and this Nokia 7100 super-effing-nova was made in the year 2008!! Talk about Nokia building a different casing for their older models and selling them for extra prices. So, for all those Nokia users out there; be warned. Get Samsung, get Sony or get Motorola. EVen an Alcatel phone works better than Nokia. If you're to say that Nokia's phone is durable (Nokia 3315 is always popular for still be functioning regardless of how many times it was dropped on the floor) well, my counter for that; you do need a durable phone if your phone is bound to be thrown around like a piece of sh!t it is. I admit; i am being one-sided here- I JUST HATE NOKIA AND ONLY NOKIA.
Back to the story, Adelynn was super upset but she try to hide it over dinner (and I am still pissed with Nokia). Of course, it was our mistake in a way to not check the phone properly but i assumed that Nokia cant be that much of a douche to charge RM500 for 5MB phone. Even the Nokia 'Sabun' was RM400 and it has a memory card slot. Hence, dearest Nokia believers out there; do the thinking for yourself. However, i managed to convince Adelynn to postpone giving the phone to her mom a lil bit and we shall go back to the DigiMall the following day to change the phone to a different model. Of course, it is 50-50 shot. I mean, goods sold may not be refundable and even if they can, i doubt the shop keeper wouldnt trick us to pay extra. I mean, we did asked for the Nokia 7100's specifications and the all the shop owner said was "good.. good... good...". He didnt mention anything about lack of memory. And yeah, he added a convincing statement that "this phone's a new model. Selling quite a lot oso". Heh, ya right. But to make things worse; it was only then that i was able to recall how the owner of the phone stall looked; he's huge, spiky hair, have a scar on his right forearm, have a slightly damaged left eye (yeah, i dunno if he's just wearing contacts but i could swear that his left and right eyes didnt look identical) and talk with such an Ah Long-ish accent and yeah, he looks like an Ah Long himself as well. Adelynn was sure that the guy does not tolerate such demands for a change of model or whatever. I looked at Adelynn with my most convincing face, swallowed my fear and said, "come on la. what is there to lose?"
